Foundation of the forgotten children

MANOUCHKA
Actress, singer, songwriter have been involved in the performing arts for many years.
In my early beginnings as a performer, I started by singing french and folk creole classics and eventually progressed into writing my own songs in both languages. Writing my own songs gave me the platform to really express my views and values, and what a great way to communicate those via my passion for singing! In the wake of the recent tragedy plaguing my beloved country, I feel the Haitian people need hope, solidarity and determination to rebuild "la perle noire des Caraibes".
We, the Haitian people, need to have faith so we can progress forward. We need to find strength through our tears so we can bring about a new beginning and a future for our children. Throughout my life as an artist, I have composed many songs that speak directly to the Haitian community, songs about hope and possibilities.
I believe that now is the time for Haitians hearts to be lifted by the message of resilience and courage prevalent in my music. We need to stand tall and show to all that together we can make things happen. "L’union fait la force!"
I hope you will take the time to listen to my tracks and be able to see the message of positivity I wish to bring to my community. I need your help to spread this message of promise and new beginnings. It is in times like this that we need to be heartened, and to hold on to our faith in one another! "Kenbe la HAITI" ![]()
HAITI
The land of Haiti, also known as the "mountainous country ", such was the name given by the arawaks to the big Island baptized Hispagnola "small Spain" by Christophe Colombus, when he made the discovery in 1492.
Haiti, the land of sun, formerly nicknamed the black pearl of the Antilles, is a country where the magic of the moment gets mixed with the hard daily reality. It is done in such an intimacy that we wonder if we should refer to this land as hell or paradise.
Haiti, one of the most beautiful and of the richest colony of the Southern seas became in the 20th century the poorest country of the American continent. Nevertheless, with courage, its inhabitants resist to the despair and hope to reconstruct this country of which they have always been proud.
Indeed what strikes the foreigner, who has hardly walked on the sacred ground of Toussaint Louverture, is the ease of the man in the street in front of the most total and dreadful destitution. Nevertheless, in the middle of so much suffering, which is the price of his daily reality, he finds the force to smile and even to laugh. He is able to take the challenge of this unfair world to immortalize the species that does not know how to die.
I thus belong, to this group of exploited, eradicated, andchoked people. I am thespokesperson of their suffering which escaped theborders of this country. I join with the suffering of all the men and all the women of the earth who fight ardently for their dignity and their survival.
I join my voice, as weak as it may be, to the liberators of consciousness of the whole world so that finally the sun of freedom and justice rises on this island of the Caribbean which was the first independent republic on the hemisphere.

OUI NOUS POUVONS Haiti...
